Fair Price For Replacing 24' AG Pool?

Fair Price For Replacing 24' AG Pool?

PostBy: Devil505 On: Fri Feb 13, 2009 11:34 am

I have an old pool that I'll be dismantling & replacing this summer. What do you think would be a fair price to have someone install a new one in the same spot? (I installed the original almost 30 years ago & just got a quote from one dealer for $3,000.00 just to install!...(Is that high or an average fee?)
I'll probably end up doing it myself again.

HOLY MOLY are you sure you told them above ground, maybe they think they have to dig a new hole or something sheesh. I put ours up in a day and filled it the next and was swimming within the week after the water warmed up. They are easy as pie to do anymore and with a few friends even easier. If I lived closer to you I would come and help you for free. If you look on craigslist or ebay you might find a bargain like we did, we paid a fraction of what a new one cost for ours.

The last one I bought was installed for 500 bucks. Two guys came around 8 AM and were done by four this included a break while one of them rode one of my horses. I thought that was high but then I am cheep :)

I put this pool up 30 years ago & replaced the liner myself about 12 years ago. It's not rocket science &, although I'd much rather sit on the deck & watch a few guys do it, I'm sure I'll end up doing it myself again. I had figured that it would be woirth maybe $200.00 to sit back & watch....but $3,000.00!! I'm in the process of calling a few other local dealers but I'm sure I'll end up playing in the sand again!

Well if two guys come and take an 8 hour day they're making $187.50 an hour. They're fishing and I hope you don't bite!
