Which size coal?

Can I use Buckwheat coal in my Alaska stoker? It calls for Rice coal, but someone has offered me 2 ton of buckwheat but I don't want any complications if it is too big for my model stove..Does anyone know?

I can't speak from experience with an Alaskan stoker but most stokers will burn buck or rice. I'd suggest getting a few buckets and see if it works but you should have no problem.

I have uesed both buckwheat and Rice in my Alaska and Harman and no problems....they seem to burn the same....

I just slow the feed for the Buckwheat so longer time on grate
