If I were going to fabricate a stove like the Leisure Line Pioneer, I
would make the body out of 14 ga. steel. The heat transfer would be
much better. A stove made with 14 ga. would never sell well because
people would think is cheap and flimsy. The old barrel wood stoves proved
the point of thin gauge material. Believe me the Leisure line stove is
very well built. There is plenty between you and that coal fire.
