I'm on my second day with my Pioneer LE. I am still getting sweat on the inside of my hopper cover. Is it ok to have some sweat or should there be none?

How much moisture is in the coal? Bags stored outside? Try keeping a few of the droosling black gooey bags in a warm area. If you don't have any 'speedy dry' you might want to stop by an automotive store and get a bag. Watch out for your clothes, too!

Not trying to scare you, just get you ready in case anything happens.

Thanks. Is there any harm in leaving the hopper cover off? My first thought is that it would help if there was a hopper fire?

Won;t hurt running with the top off, I run both my stoves with no hopper cover.

Sometimes condensation is related to your draft, and could be wet coal.
just make sure your draft is correct and calibrated with a draft gauge.

I wouldn't advise that, the cover would stop a fire from migrating through the hopper, not that that is a big issue.
You are going to love the uniform, economical heat these stokers yield, and think you have gone to heaven when you want factory support, even for trivial issues. This is how a business is suppose to be run.
Large enough to serve you, small enough to still care.
They make promises they CAN keep.

Thank you. I keep my coal inside but the person I get if from doesn't. It is damp so I'm thinking that may be what it is from. Also, my chimney is only app. 10 up my wall. Is there a mini. chimney height?

check you draft before removing the hopper lid. If the coal isn't literally dripping wet then you have a (lack of) draft problem and you will soon be having a problem with CO. Make sure you have digital CO detector in the same room as the stove.
