Didn't watch it. I agree with Alan Keyes. Obama is a radical communist.

Great speech. A thousand home runs for our new president and gives me hope for the future of our nation.

The republican response on the other hand - simply bizarre. Highlighting the biggest failure of the previous republican administration to make the point they know what's best for the country? It's almost like Jindal wrote it without bothering to hear or read what President Obama was saying this evening. It is beyond explanation for a party that supposedly hopes to regroup and rebuild.

Solid speech, addressed all the issues, we will see how it pans out. The republicans continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Look guys, Obama gave a 9.0 speech tonight, Jindal sank like a stone.

He's the veritable inverse of Palin. Transplant his brain into her body, throw the rest away, and you might have something. But Jindal's not ready for prime time. He's toast as of tonight. And Palin will never survive a primary season.

So who else has the GOP got? Mark Sanford?

Hate to be Mike Steele tonight. Gotta figure he's looking for Mitt's number -- but he's got to find the one for the mansion Mitt hasn't sold yet!

If he can't locate Mitt, he may have to call ... Alan Keyes!

Mitt may be the best hope for the republicans future. Being from MA, I will bet on the the Democrats. Mitt can NOT
take a punch, no way no how. He has a glass Jaw. So on paper and photo ops, wonderful. Slap him around a little bit,
and he comes apart. No heart.

Boy am I glad I voted for him instead of McCain.

I think any honest appraisal of last night would be incomplete unless it mentioned the stark180* difference between the America of 2 months ago & the new.....vastly improved one! We now have a President who can speak in complete sentences, knows how to properly pronounce the word NUCLEAR & is capable of inspiring our nation......something lacking for years, but a very important part of the job description of the POTUS.
Personally, I think anyone who denies these simple truths is both kidding themselves & is simply out of step with the majority of his countrymen.

I thought he was right to the point on what needs done to get this country back on track. Hopefully what he is planning will work. Shame we can't turn the clock back 8 years and had him running agianst *censored*. We wouldn't be in this mess if we had a strong leader and a man with some balls.

SO, let me get this straight, since Obama can give a good speech and can sell ice to eskimos while giving said speech ( which is really what he has done and is good at ) That makes America VASTLY improved from just two months ago?

Wasn't the stock market at its LOWEST POINT since 1997 just two days ago? Even MORE jobs are gone from just two months ago? The only difference is that now we ( and our children ) now are in debt for well over 800 billion.

Also, what happened to Obama NOT allowing any pork in this bill? He ran a campaign based on this and even proclaimed that he would use a line item veto to eliminate ANY pork.. well, now there are 9,000 ( yes 9,000 ) pork items in the bill ....

SO, the only I difference I can see is that there are more people drinking the Kool-Aid....

Lets see what kind of shape we are in two years from now. My guess will be the same or worse, But in the hole about 1.5 trillion.....
