Anybody know where you can buy tobacco seeds over the counter, not over the internet but right at a store. I don't buy anything over the net so it needs to be in person. I can't afford the state and federal tax for cigarettes anymore and would like to grow and roll my own. With the way the tax is going who knows I may start dealing.

Nicotiana is what you are looking for. As far as what variety smokes the best, you will have to do some home work....
on the net or the library. Most of cultivated tobacco is sold as pellet seed. You may have to buy on line unless you can
find a catalog . Smoke On !

Ya know the funney thing is there are more people addicted to nicotine than anything else and no dealers around to supply them, I guess cause it's legal. What do you think a pound of good cigg could go for?

i pay 12 dollars a pound for menthol myo at my local smokers express.

now starting april 1st thanks to new taxes the price per pound for myo tobacco will go up 25 dollars a pound

still cheaper than buying ciggs.

i can make a pack for about .80 cents

now after april frist it will be 2.00 dollars a pack which still isnt bad. I think in 1995 or 96 I paid about 2.25 a pack

i always thought it was illegal to grow your own tobacco. I thought you needed a permit from the govt.

I hope this goes well for you. If it does you can apply to the dept of agriculture for money to not plant on your tobacco 'farm'. That should cover the cost of the tobacco tax and then you could go back to buying it retail.

Last I knew it was legal, but always thought seeds are hard to come by. But, I found them on line easily.

With all of those new taxes it's cheaper to chew nicotine gum. Only tax on it is sales tax. I already switched over. Not because of taxes but it's time for me to quit.
