My wife has an Asus, and it is one awesome laptop. Very fast, and powerful.

My wife has the HP mini, I have the Lenovo S10. I prefer S10 over the HP for 2 reasons, the button placement on the HP is on the right & left side of the track pad, on the S10 they are below the pad which is more comfortable for me & the S10 has a hard drive/memory access panel, with the HP you have to remove the KB. Both are solid netbook's.

I got this piece of crap yesterday & it won't find the wireless network router!...I just got off the phone with (HP) India (probably Al Quieda......I think the tech said his name was Osama something or other??) & after over an hour, we managed to get this thing to work effectively as a paperweight!!
(although I'm afraid to blow on the papers under it because I'm sure it would fail at holding them down too!!!)

All my other computers have no problem finding the wireless signal but this....LINUX based piece of Sh_t does nothing!!

I can recommend this for anyone looking for a $300.00 + NIGHTLITE!!!!

One problem:The help instructions (below) are written for Windows & the computer is Linux based

Wireless Assistant properties:
1. Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > HP Wireless Assistant.
2. Click Properties.
3. Select the check box next to Wireless Assistant icon in notification area.
4. Click Apply.
For more information, refer to the Wireless Assistant software Help:
1. Open Wireless Assistant by double-clicking the icon in the notification area.
2. Click the Help button.
Using a WLAN
With a WLAN device, you

There is no Start> button.......Or ...Control Panel >

Just a totally unnecessary & maddening bit of incompetency!!

Nope.

But I gave it to my daughter & it works fine at her house with her FIOS wireless modem???

Going over there for dinner tonight to check it out. I bought it for her or my wife, but I think they both think the screen is to small for any serious computer work. We'll see.

Asus and Supermicro are the only motherboards that go in business computers I have built for my customers.
Have no fear about Asus products.

Sending back to Amazon today. Got it to work but neither my wife or my daughter liked it.

1. Monitor too small for c'td use
2. Linux based system so won't operate MS Office

Amazon is great though.....They even sent me a return label to ship it back to them by UPS at no charge. (UPS store right near me too)

Woot sells antiquated, out of production, stuff.

The Intel Atom processor is not even a year old, so 'antiquated' is an exaggeration. 'Out of production' may be the case here; but a netbook for under $190 shipping included is still a good deal. I've gotten plenty of good deals on woot and a few items I shouldn't have bought, but it's always been fun.
