Yes.....they all said the keyboard was great & liked it. (you can read the same customer reviews on Amazon)
Consumer Reports hasn't reviewed them yet. I'll have 30 days to try it out anyway)
No optical drive but I have an external DVD writer anyway
Small HD.16GB but I have a few external HD's anyway

That 16GB harddrive in it is probably a SolidState hardrive. They make thos ALOT larger now. I've seen 200GB SSHarddrives on the market. You can always swap that out if you need the room.
Funny; we have been using Solid State Disk Arrays on mainframe computers for 20 years now. I'm amazed they haven't been used on PCs until just recently. Probably the cost was prohibitive.

I'm not really concerned with the small HD as I just bought my wife an external 250MB HD (for $69.00) to save room on her laptop anyway. I actually ordered this netbook because:
1. I love new gadgets & always try to justify NEEDING them!
2. My middle daughter was thinking of a laptop but I think this may work for her at 1/2 the price of a laptop.

Yeah, thats a better wieght to lug around. Toshiba came out with something similar in '98 or'99. A couple pounds, ran XP.

At almost $500.00 it's pretty expensive though.

I'm getting one of these little guys too, my Toshiba screen and battery died. Why did you pick this over the HP mini 1000 for $299 or the Dell for $199? I note people are recommending the 60 GB hard drive too...

Please give reviews on these netbooks when you receive them. I've been seriously considering getting one myself and your good experiences will help me make up my mind.

My Dell Mini 9 is arriving today. Hope it meets my expectations, plan to use it on motorcycle and car trips. Will load mapping software and yahoo so we can keep in touch with the family while away! I will let you know how it works out.
