Victory At Sea.
This award winning NBC series was aired during the 1952-53 season. With the Henry Salomon production and M.Clay Adams directing, the Victory At Sea series won many accolades and is still very popular today.

The success of Victory At Sea started another documentary at CBS called Air Power by Walter Cronkite
**Broken Link(s) Removed**. However Air Power never achieved the ratings the Victory At Sea did.

It was a good show but didn't have the Richard Rodgers score, the writing & narration that either Victory At Sea or The Valiant Years had, imo.

My favorite was the "Silent Service"

Us kids used to have to go to bed on Sunday evening while the Lawerence Welk show was on. My Dad, (USN WWII) used to let me get back up and watch it with him right after the Welk show was done.
Exciting show!

The Richard Rogers score was pure genius.
Not to be too technical but the original thread has the title of :"Favorite 1950's TV Shows"
The Valiant Years was not from the 1950's. It was a TV series 1960-1963.
