Songs that influenced you

Songs that influenced you

PostBy: gambler On: Sun Mar 01, 2009 1:17 am

This is the song that I heard when I was 13 (my first rock and roll song) that made me want to listen to music. This has remained my favorite group through my entire life.
You just can't help wanting to move when you hear music like this.

And then 2 years later I heard this.

What is the most influential song or group of your life?

:punk: I have a fine DAC collection of songs ... probably not appropriate for postage on this here family forum .... ;) ;) ;) :D

I can remember the very first time I figured out how to change the radio from the boring AM gold my parents listened to, to a modern (for the time) rock station. Some of the first tunes I heard were Hot Town Summer in the City - Lovin' Spoonful, Painted Black - Rolling Stones .... I think those same AC/DC songs too - I remember hearing Dirty Deeds for the first time - and instant hit with me!

Van Halen will stick with me forever. I'll never forget the first time I heard Runnin' with the Devil - goosebumps from head to toe! INSTANT HIT!! I was hooked. Then as the 80's arrived I got into the hair metal scene ... then into speed/death metal (reflected my mood at the time) toward the end of the 80's ... and now regressing back into hair metal. From '92 on I hated all the music that came out, so I continued discovering metal bands that I overlooked while in my death metal stage. Still discovering "new" tunes all the time. Gotta love Youtube!
