Yep, freezing rain is the worst! We had that stuff with the last couple storms, but this storm was all powder. It got to 5F last night, no chance of melting into slush either.

I was thinking something was wrong.... I burned more coal than normal the last two days. I now know why...in today's paper it shows the last two days had more degree days than almost any day this season! I guess if it's as cold as can be, the boiler will use as much coal as can be!

Clear and cold here this morning. Seems the weather guys were right for a change, we had snow yesterday but the bulk of the storm was supposed to pass south of us and go out to sea. Only about two inches of wind blown powder, I don't even need to get the plow out. Like Freddy says though all the fires are churning out the heat.
