Again, you guys see the world through distorted lenses which show only what you WANT TO SEE. What the hell is an "Earmark" anyway? Are they all necessarily bad? Don't they provide well needed jobs & infrastructure repairs this country needs? Aren't almost 1/2 of the "Earmarks" written in by YOUR SIDE?

The world is not as simple as you want us to believe. Some Earmarks are good & some are bad. An Earmark is simply a government spending project which is exactly what we need & exactly what you guys pushed through in the Fall. Stop the hypocrisy of the suddenly remembered fiscal responsibility. We voters are laughing at you! :nono:

Then why is it that your the only one that thinks that. And please tell me the supposed lies or deceit I'm guilty of so at least I'll know what standards you choose to judge me from. And all the we's you talk of can chime in too.

Ultimately only time can fix this economy
With markets this bruised, the government is not the answer.

To answer the question "Can the gov.....?"...Yes they have the ability. :D
That said, government wont for one simple reason. :( They cant stop playing politics and "selfpreservation/reelection" long enough to give serious thought to what they are doing.

Judging by the admitted statements of "we didn't have time to read the Stimulous Package" or this tid-bit"
"It's not based on any particular data point," a Treasury spokeswoman told Forbes.com Tuesday. "We just wanted to choose a really large number."

With attitudes like that, thank goodness Paulson and his ilk from the previous administration are gone. Funny that this was said back in September before the election yet only has legs now.

Well, lets take a look see wasn't Obama a Huge supporter of the 1st Stink-Bomb...I mean Stim-pak? Why yes, yes he was.

A larger one was just passed with ( I give Dear Leader credit, he didn't lie about being a Liberal) all his boys and girls and Timmy the Tax Cheat pushing it along.

And now....ta- da..a 3rd! is now being tossed about like, "hey no biggie."

Just remember something, I was against the very 1st one that my President signed, and I'm against the larger and more extensive ones your president pushed for. The market would have corrected it's self without Government intrusion into it, they're only making worse for future generations.

My most recent favorite cartoon, pretty much explains it.

I thought no government intrusion is what got us into this mess.
