Bush Calls Financial Bailout 'Extraordinary Deal'

Monday, September 29, 2008 | FoxNews.com

WASHINGTON — Less than an hour before the House takes up the new $700 billion financial bailout bill, President Bush moved to assure Americans that the plan is good for the country.

Bush Calls Bailout Vital to Economy, Will Meet With McCain and Obama
Proposal Takes Shape in Congress, but Broad Support Is Lacking

President Bush said yesterday that the credit crisis that has seized world markets could devastate the U.S. economy unless Congress acts quickly to approve a $700 billion bailout plan for the nation's financial system, a message aimed at reluctant lawmakers as much as a deeply skeptical public.

Divorce Time???
Divorce agreement:

THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I'LL VOTE FOR HIM.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way. Here is a model separation agreement:

Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes. We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them. You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU. Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military. You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell (You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them).

We'll keep the capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street. You can have your beloved homeless, homeboys, hippies and illegal aliens. We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks. We'll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us. You can have the peaceniks and war protesters.. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.. You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U. N.. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

We'll keep the SUVs, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors. We'll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right. We'll keep The Battle Hymn of the Republic and the National Anthem. I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute Imagine, I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing, Kum Ba Ya or We Are the World.

We'll practice trickle down economics and you can give trickle up poverty your best shot. Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you ANWAR which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall Law Student and an American

P. S. Also, please take Barbara Streisand & Jane Fonda with you.

This is an interesting idea!
"Time for a Tea Party
There's a storm abrewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep
quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us.. We don't work for them.
Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight,
closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's
over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick
of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my
dollar. I am sick of being told it is
MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than
they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to
pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes.
I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor
decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them
to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it
first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.
O.K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you
think won't make a difference.. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are
disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are
fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and
"stimulate" without accountability and
responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM
EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to
demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the
American
Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the
economic free fall.
So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Ameicans are asked to send a
TEABAG to Washinton , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other
information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG.
Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea
Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type,
simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar
when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something
needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in
the stock market speaks volumes.
This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Pary' and
an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the
teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15.
Will you do it? I will. Send it to;1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington , D.C.
20500 ....
Forward this to everyone in your address book. Visit the website below for
more information about the 'New American Tea Party'. I would encourage
everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, then
just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't guarantee what the postage will be
by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will
this cost you? A little time and a 40 something cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials
will start to listen to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money
is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND
ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years.
It is not too late."

Spending money is never a solution for stimulating an economy. The only reason such nonsense works occasionally to lift us from a minor recession is because of the fiat monetary system's multiplier effect. But basically, it is the fiat monetary system in combination with deficit spending that IS the problem. Both cause inflation. Government induced spending tricks people into believing they have dollars to spend, when in reality, inflation takes them away.

Such political manipulation of the economy defeats free market allocation. The current problems are caused by the government and will not be fixed by the government.

Lets just do away with government all government so that nothing can ever again be created or fixed. If we can do it world wide won`t this & everyplace be a great place. You certainly have hit on the solution.

6 of the top 10 earmark hogs for the current spending bill are Republicans, and in fact the top two are Republicans.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., wants you to know that he voted against the $410 billion spending bill President Obama signed into law on March 11. His fellow Republicans "tried to cut the bill's cost. Our ideas would have saved billions of taxpayer dollars. Unfortunately, every one was turned aside." Well, not every one. According to the spreadsheet prepared by Taxpayers for Common Sense, the spending bill incorporates 53 ideas put forth by McConnell himself in the form of legislative earmarks. Far from lowering the spending bill's cost, they increased it by $76 million.

The Spreadsheet link:

The top ten were as follows:
1. Thad Cochran, R-Miss.: $474 million
2. Roger Wicker, R-Miss.: $391 million
3. Mary Landrieu, D-La.: $332 million
4. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa: $292 million
5. David Vitter, R-La.: $249 million
6. Christopher Bond, R-Mo.: $248 million
7. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.: $235 million
8. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii: $225 million
9. Richard Shelby, R-Ala.: $219 million
10. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa: $199 million

Regardless of who is responsible for the ear marks we were PROMISED by BO they would be stopped. BO even admitted on national TV he knew the bill was laden with ear marks and he signed it any way. Please don't misunderstand I absolutely believe all those that had personal ear marks should be voted out the next election especially the republicrats because they made the claim they're going to vote for the peoples best interest and are doing just the opposite running up more unnecessary debt while the demicians are keeping their word and continuing with their socialist agenda.

Absolutely correct, this is also the reason why we loose seats to the Dems, we hold our elected officials feet to the flame. I won't vote for a Re-pub if he's dirty, most of us don't, that's why they don't get re-elected.
On the otherhand, say a Barney Franks fella happens to have a male prostitution ring running out of his house, or say having a sausage party with the President of a Bank he's supposed be over seeing ...ahem... well.....he's a Democrat, He gets a Chairmanship.

Truely, I think prolly 80% of all Pols are corrupt at some level. I believe in Term limits. Speaking of which, I believe Teddie is now on the recieving end of Karma..his term is about to expire.

The video posted is Obama speaking of the recovery plan. The omnibus spending bill was leftover from the previous administration (remember that one?) and needed to be signed as is to keep the government open and running. Had he not signed it (or sent it back for "editing", the government would have shut down this week.

Two different things but facts generally don't matter to you guys.

It's getting harder and harder to tell the party's apart. I don't think at this point it makes any difference we need to get honest constitutionalists that will stand up for WE THE PEOPLE and all the socialists can go back to Canada,Russia, and England they'll be much happier there and all they want will already be in place.
