Just got off the phone with a 90 yr. old lady who cannot find a coal supplier.Seems most around here have gone bust. She uses a hand fired stove (warm morning), and like most here she burns bituminous. She's not looking for free stuff, just a supplier who will deliver a few tons to the Blue Ridge/Montvale area (central SW Virginia)

Where to buy Coal near York PA?

PostBy: BillyR1970 On: Sun Oct 26, 2008 2:14 pm

I live in Glen Rock PA, just south of York PA. I bought a Harman Mark 3 this year and will need coal. Any close locations and price would be very helpful.

Thank you. Billy

Billy,
In addition to Sterner Coal Company you can try the following:

Fred Glass and Son's - Hanover, PA (717) 637-4792

Hoke Mills - York, PA (717) 843-8889

Just give them a call for pricing.

Hello all,
Looking for a place to get rice coal in St. Lawrence county NY, 1000 Island region. I'm moving up there soon and have a Harman DVC 500 I would like to use. Found one place in Govenour NY, ( Cook's sand & gravel ) that supposedly has bagged rice coal. Would like to buy bulk if possible for delivery sake. I wonder why there are so few coal dealers in the Adirondack region of NY? Thanks for any information and what a great forum!

Try Steve at Cornwall Coal & Supply Co. Inc. 845-534-3650. He is in southern New York but delivered to us up here in Willsboro which is about 40 miles south of Canada. He has some very good hard antracite at a fair price. We have been very pleased with the coal.
