Hi I'm looking for anthracite coal for a manual stove (Harman MK 1 or similar) so stove or nut size would be fine. I'm in the Jackson / Napoleon area in Michigan. I would prefer 40lb bagged coal in 1 ton pallets, but will also consider collecting in bulk if it offers a substantial saving. I have both a pickup truck and a suitable trailer. Will consider travel in a 100 mile radius depending on the price. Thank you.

I'm coming from Maryland below DC and want to pick up about 8 tons bulk stove coal in my dumptruck. Where should I go to get it? I want quality and hopefully not too far over the Pa line? I'd like to come up Rt. 83 towards York. Help appreciated!

I'd suggest Superior Coal Preparation Co, 184 Schwenks Rd, Hegins, PA 17938. Telephone to make sure they have stock. 570-682-3246, 1-800-780-2625. Price is $140 a ton until early August. Basic directions would be 83N to 81N exit at Rt. 209 and go west. Use your favorite mapping web site for the detail.

Don't know any just over the MD line. For a 8 ton load it will be worth going directly to a breaker. Be sure to calculate the volume of your truck and it's side boards, coal weighs less than stone and you will need extra side boards.

Are you sure you want Stove size for your Hitzer I think you would be better off with Nut it will burn longer You can get
a mix of both Nut & Stove And I don't think you will get 8 tons of stove in your dumptruck How big is the dump for 8 tons
you will need 320 cubic ft . 4x8x10=320 Stove is 2 / 716"x 1 / 5/8" Nut is 1 5/8" x 13/16" Standard Sizes for Anthracite
Superior coal Take 107 Exit off of I-81 At the top of Ramp take a left you are on Route 209 go up the hill 1/2 mile
Take the first Right you are on Main st. Joliett Pa Flollow it to the bottom you will come to a 4 way stop take the left go
4.5 miles take the second left Schwenks Road go 1/2 mile the scale is on the left breaker on you right go to the scale
the Red & Green will Flash Pull off and go across the st. to the breaker pull under to the last chute it will be at the other end tell the guy what you want they will fill you then go back to the scale when the light flashes pull off and park go to the office and pay 140.00 a ton 137.00 if you buy 20 or more tons price will be going up on 8/4/08 155.00 to 160.00 a ton

Yes - Nut coal size.... I called Superior today... they had a recording - says - open 7-3 - 140 ton .... So i'm gonna plan a trip up there soon - before it goes up.... It's a 6 wheel dump --- I might have to put a couple more boards on the sides...

Coal is double the volume of rock so you certainly will need boards if its regular sized dump.

Looking for trucking firm to deliver rice coal to Oxford, NY (about 30 plus miles above Binghamton, NY) - not interested in a load of 20 to 23 tons but 10 or less (nowhere to store).

I have a bin and buy my coal in bulk - local companies have raised prices greatly - close to $300 ton delivered in bulk - looking to get lower priced coal per ton from source in PA and pay for trucking.

Any ideas, suggestions? I have done the U-haul once and that was tough - my jeep is not cable of towing a great deal of weight.

looking for coal suppliers in michigan. i live in brownstown mi. need coal here. and have farm in pinconning mi. need it there also.can burn wood or coal but dont like to do the cutting or splitting anymore two back surgerys have ended that. any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you guys give me some contact info for coal. I'm thinking that if i can buy direct from the breakers and have a full load trucked back to Minnesota myself I'll save some money. After all isn't saving a little money one of the reasons why were burning coal! Bagged coal (rice) would work the best for now.

Spuria's in Ashburnham MA (just north of Worcester MA) is selling Blaschak nut & rice coal. I just bought 2 tons of rice a steep price of $315 a ton.
But after reading some of the horror stories about other brands of coal on this board, I felt that it's worth paying a little more for the name brand.
