Hi everyone ,
I'm new to the forum and are still getting use to how to navigate and use the forum. alot of great info. that I'm using to make a good choice about buying a coal boiler. I never used coal before but it seem like the way to go. I have a Harman dealer in town and I'm going to look at the sf-260 wood/coal 3100$, and the vf-3000 4300$.I do like the auto feeder on the vf-3000 but also like the simple design of the sf-260 and the option to burn wood. I'm using these boilers to heat 1600 sq ft. house through my hot air oil furnance in the house, and would also like to heat my garage 28x30. What I have now is a small wood boiler in the garage now that I used this winter, and relized I need something new.The boiler worked on warmer days, but on colder days just couldn't keep up. The wood tending was also a full time job. I burn over 20 face cord and still have mar. and april to go. The wood boiler only measures 22x27x34. I didn't pay much for the boiler so I'm not out much. I also have a gentleman that sells coal bulk and can get me a keystoker ka-6 for 4800$. :?: :?: Any info would be appreicated. Thank you , good day.

If you don't want to have to tend the stove like a wood stove, an Automatic stoker is the way to go, you can go 1-2+ days without doing much to them, just check the coal level and empty the ashes.

Boiler and a hot water coil for your air handler.
Drop the wood and sell it to your friends to buy coal for yourself.
