I saw that earlier. They need the dollar to stay where it's at. With what happen over the weekend in the south China Sea area. Just think if things would of gone real bad or do in the future. We can tell China to pound salt on their bonds and try to collect.

Debt is a two way street. Countries can and do default. So we owe China big money, it is in there best interest for us
to do well. The current bank crisis demonstrates all to well what happens when only a few fail to pay there bills. Now, if
you have it ALL riding on one customer..........hang on ! I am sure they are thinking that to put good money on top of
potentially bad money is not a good thing. They are screwed though, because we need MORE if we are to fix it and be able
to pay what we already owe. Pop a couple of ships, and it gets REAL expensive, REAL quick. I believe that the China sea
will become VERY quiet. Unless of course they are just ideologically whacked and do not care.

They are not whacked, just sick of our spy planes snooping and ships mapping their underwater coastline so we can safely send our attack submarines into their backyard. At least they are reasonably pleasant about it. Scandinavian countries routinely drop depth charges on Russian subs when caught sniffing their coast.

Agreed, and there are a whole lot more of them than there are of us.

They may own much of our debt but also remember they are huge suppliers of stuff to us as well. If we aren't spending (and as consumers, we are not) they are kind of hosed on top of anything else.
