I just put 8 enbloc clips through my newest toy A high serial numbered Korean War vintage Garand. What a beauty! My wife is still laying on the floor after she dared telling me that it looked like all the other rifles I own. I picked it up from an older fella at my local gun club that used it for camp perry matches. Im new to it but the history and devoted following are very impressive. The guy I bought it from bought it from the CMP program back in 1996. Let me know what you got im curious. Ill post some picks of mine soon.

Good for you! I heard it will put a bullet 11 inches into an oak tree at 600 yards. Hope to see pics!

My brother has had many. He currently has a real sweet M1-D1 sniper from 1944. It's a Winchester, he claims they made the best ones. That thing kicks like an angry mule. At 500 yards it will leave a nasty hollow in a solid plate of steel, about 1 1/2 across and 3/4 of an inch deep, The steel looks vaporized. Never liked that clip thing and M1 thumb though, I still prefer the BAR myself. :)

I have a vintage WWII era, Springfield made in Sept,43. Shoots great.

If you reload, never load any powder slower than IMR4350, it can result in a bent operating rod.

Here is a picture I took today the stock has a beautiful tiger stripe pattern thing going on and it still needs a good wipedown to remove the dark parts where your hand go. Thanks for the reloading advise BKsaun I hopefully will be loading them soon. Thanks for the interest. Jim

Hi Cheapheat, The M1 Garand is very cool! The M1 and M1A like bullets in the 150gr. to 168gr. weight. The heavy bullets 180gr. and up tend to SLAM the action. Do not ask how I know this.

Never Use IMR 4350, IMR4831, or H 4831 to hand load for the M1 Grand! They will cause short cycling, increased recoil, erratic port pressure and accelerated wear in the M1 Garand...........

Use CCI BR-210 Primers.

PM me for load data. I have over 80 loads for the Garand.
