Funny...I didn't hear many complaints when this guy started the huge ball rolling: (it only became a problem at 12:01pm on the afternoon of 1/21/2009 when President Obama took over)

Of course it's GWB's fault, just like everything else. Unfortunately the Stimulus Bill was passed during a Democrat majority Congress and a Democrat president, kinda kicks that idea into the gutter.

May I remind you that I am a Conservative first and foremost, Republican second, GWB did a lot of things I didn't like.

Just ribbing you John & pointing out the obvious..... that it was not the Democrats who started this massive bailout crap & how conservatives now can't put enough distance between them & what's left of the Republican Party.

One of the biggest differences I see in this speech is that he signed the bill before he had the plan in place with the treasury dept. How does that work? Guess I answered my own question there. On another point, I think I prefer someone that thinks things out before running his mouth.

You mean like this?
“That’s very good, Mr. President,” Leno said sarcastically.
It’s “like the Special Olympics or something,” the president said.

I see alot of people here that have given me there best advice when I needed help. It kind of bothers me to see you all so upset and at eachothers throats like this.
I'm afraid the blame lays where it lays and there is plenty to go around in both parties.

If I were spinning propaganda and wanted to keep the people busy I would do just what they are doing to us.

Point fingers at the other guy and keep the honest people fighting eachother over which side did it.
Rather than where it belongs and possibly cause outright anarchy and an ousting of the powers that be on both sides.
Give it a thought.

Also I would like to add. Have any of us checked into just who owns the news agency's that we each trust to bring us the news we trust?

Personally I know theres my opinion, Your opinion and then theres the real story.

At any rate I would like to thank all of you that have helped me burn coal successfully and if you or I dont see eye to eye. Know that we are all hurt by the big boys and none of us would have intentionally asked for the situation we are all in.

Speaking only for myself, I would say this: My main reason for being here is to help coal newbies learn the tricks & tips that make coal heating so worthwhile & to pick up new tips myself. I have been heating with coal for almost 30 years & would say no winter goes by without my learning something new & beneficial too!
As far as being at eachother's throats, I wouldn't really worry to much about it! ;)
While these discussions can get pretty heated sometimes, most of us are able to keep these "Off Topic" squabbles separate from our real reason for being here & rarely carry a grudge for too long.
Coal burners, by our nature...tend to be strong mined, opinionated & even stubborn folk to deal with, but generally have good hearts & like helping their neighbors out.
I feel pretty comfortable saying that almost all the members here consider ME the conscience & the brains behind all political & moral discussions here & generally follow my words to the letter! ....(luckily I am humble too) :P

Why are we surprised that someone who lives in very blue NYC who wants political favors donates to Dems? You will notice almost all of those contributions are NY or NJ.

If he lived in Houston he would donate to the GOP.

Well--it's like this....there are those of us here who are correct and those of us who need to realize that they are wrong, Once the wrong ones see the light and start to think like us (the ones who are correct about the way this country should be run) then everything will be just fine!

I won't mention any names.

Seriously, we are all here because of King Coal. In fifty years this will be history, petty squabbles will be forgotten. Wonder how it's going to turn out?
