Open Mouth, Insert Foot

Our Minister gives a sermon 3 times a week and he writes his own sermons. He does look at his notes from time to time to remain on track. Whether he is using his words or quoting somebody's words he does not need a teleprompter and you know he does not stutter or stammer but when he makes a mistake he corrects it and apologizes and moves on. He is always very humble and watches his words carefully and if he even thinks he's offended someone he makes it right then and there. So please stop making excuses for a wrong when it's done innocently or not he needs to man up and apologize ASAP regardless of what you think. If he had any morals at all he'd have done it already and this conversation would not be. Some times pride overcomes common sense which is the whole point to most of theses posts. no no no, he makes mistakes everytime he is away from his teleprompter, he cant speak worth a damn unless its written ahead of time for him. All Obama is for the democratic party, is a PUPPET

She may or may not be. It is still a mans world. You can bet that if she takes a shot, it will only be after a couple of summer courses in geography. Everybody who goes on TV, including Saturday night live, uses a teleprompter. Que
cards are still used too. You think the news announcer is "telling you straight"? No, he is READING to you just like a parent
to a toddler at bed time. Same thing with the late night TV shows. Like him or hate him, the President showed some real
balls going on TV and winging it. W would NEVER have done that, his handlers would not have allowed it. I am sure that
Obamas people were not excited either. As far as the Sarah video, that is scripted and read off a teleprompter.
The key to eye contact is the prompter is placed just so above the camera so she " looks" right at you, as she reads. You
can tell she has formal speech training. Wonder how many takes? Had to be few, the kids would be moving around.....

I don`t know bill every newscast that I`ve seen so far today bring up the slip. Who hasn`t misspoke? At least he called & offered an apology right away.

If we accept the definition of character as doing what’s right even when no one is watching, Obama’s past actions and the statement yesterday speaks volumes about his character. He doesn’t have any. He is only concerned with his statements or actions when they come back to haunt him. Individuals with character and concern for others don’t make these kinds of mistakes because those thoughts are not a part of their everyday life. Obama forgot he was on national TV and displayed his true character; the one he is so desperate to keep hidden from us. Unfortunately, as the current mess gets worse we'll start to see more and more of Obama's lack of character. I pray for my children and our country.

Having said that I saw a piece somewhere on his main speech writer who is very young as in just out of college.

Having two or three days to prepare a sermon is entirely different than doing a show recorded live.... Lets face it the President whether it's George Bush or Obama is under camera scrutiny constantly when in public and *censored* is going to happen. Not that I'm excusing what he said but the point is there is so many opportunities for a someone like himself to screw up.
