I hear ya Dick. It would be a call , depending on the gut. Like I said during the tail the stakes would be reveled and then common sense would dictate further enguagement.

Probably the most dangerous thing any LEO ever does is a vehicle stop. Most of the time you have no idea who is in the car or what they have been doing. (could be Mother Theresa..... on her way to feed some orphans or Osama Bin Ladin & a car-full of Al Quieda!)
For an unarmed civilian to be riding around sparsely inhabited areas making vehicle stops........I'd stick with playing "Russian Roulette"........odds are better! ;)

I would have done the same, except I`d call 911 not knowing any other #s. I thought thats what we`re supposed to do being good citizens better safe than sorry.

Yes you did the right thing. Thank you! Prior to Jan 20th, there was a terror tip line to report such things that I believe went to the Department of Homeland Security. Who knows if Obama has done away with it as he doesn't want to insult terrorists by calling them terrorists. There is no longer a "war on terror" you know. It's an overseas contingency operation. Anyway on the off chance it's still active, it was 1-800-492-8477. I've got it in my cell phone. The terrorists are laughing at us and licking their chops. We've made oursleves easier softer targets.

How did you manage to turn a thread on a "heads up", civically responsible deed done by Bill...into an anti-Obama theme Terry?? :nono: :no1: :nana:

If telling the truth is now considered anti-obama, I'm guilty. As of yesterday, there is no more war on terror. As I said, it's an overseas contigency operation.

We have more to fear from the Mexican drug wars than the boogieman from Al Quieda.
The "War on Terror" has always been just a political BS line anyway....No different than The War On Poverty or The War On Drugs.,...Just Madison Ave catch phrases to reinforce "feel good" legislation that is always doomed to failure by making complex problems SOUND simple.

I haven't heard any Mexican drug lords vow to kill me, my wife and children. On the other hand, that is the stated goal of the islamic terroists. I'm not worried about the Mexican drug war.

You did the right thing. I'd have made a report too. Even if they did nothing I'd feel better. If I didn't report it and something awful happened, then how would I feel?
I've called 911 for a few different reasons over the years that weren't emergencies. I always start with "This is NOT an emergency, if you need to, hang up, I'll call back tomorrow". Each time they took my call.
