I think it went out the window when the FDA required everyone to depend on them for food safety. Since the company can point the finger at the FDA for not having enough regulation, or enough inspections or what ever, and the FDA can point the finger at the company for not following the rules or not reporting properly. we the public get screwed again with no one to blame or hold accountable.
I think all those directly responsible for the problem should be held responsible. Thank God it hasn't hurt anybody by this time as of yet. Oh I forgot the government doesn't police their own so I guess it's BO's fault as he stated at the last AIG fiasco. I hate to be negative but it'll be interesting if there are any consequences.
You also have to look at what type of employees these places are hireing, there areas these plants are in have a lot of migrant workers that are there for awhile then gone. Some don`t even comprehend instructions when given but the bottom line is they work cheap.
It seems to me we had much less of these type "failure to follow proven procedure"in the days before the word Competion.Once you base all decisions on the fact that if it is not faster ,cheaper and more cost effective, bad things will follow.Competition taken in moderation is a useful energizer for business----- taken in the extreme it is a destructive taskmaster. We are now choosing the latter in this counrty. regards, Mike
