Not so sure if that was such a good idea because I had trouble getting the cursor to pop up on the search text box.

Thier servers caught the ConFicker Worm.
My old company was notorious for not getting updates in place in a timely manner. They were forever getting worms/viruses on the Wintel servers. The unix servers just kept humming away, happy as can be.

Where did you hear that? The page had a flash animation or something that dropped the entire page. They must have stopped it. April fool's. ;)

Through both my hosting company and additions I have made. The trouble is you only need on point of entry and your screwed. I try and take as many precautions as necessary such as the htaccess password protection for the phpbb admin panel.

Is Google having a worm issue? Or is it an April fools joke they created? Each year they do something funny, but... you can't "google" a question right now!

What the? If you click that link google is messed up...all the words drop to the bottom of the page, but, if you type google.com into your browser, it works as it should.

I think this might go down as "Sounded good when we discussed it" ideas. I have the google tool bar but I can't search from the google home page... unless you click a lot and get lucky to get a cursor in the text box.

http://www.chromeexperiments.com/hosted ... index.html is what is behind that link of http://www.google.com link in the first message.

Google is working fine.

My guess is that google is running a linux variant for servers not Windows.

Well I knew it was a joke as far as Goggle went, what I didn't realize was that it was also a joke by carnage. Like I said, pretty slick.

I was scouring some webmaster sites for mention of it and ALMOST posted about it on one of them.

Creating an alias for the link in the DNS server, or simply forcing the request to another site, are ways I have seen previous AprilFool's jokes at my old company. It pissed off the big bosses. The Admin that changed it, got in trouble for making unauthorized changes to the production servers. That was YEARS ago, before regmented/standardized ITIL Change Control was in place.
