Iraqi truck bombing kills 5 U.S. soldiers

BAGHDAD - The U.S. military says five American soldiers were among seven people killed in a suicide truck bombing in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

A military statement says two Iraqi policemen were also killed. A sixth U.S. soldier was wounded in the blast along with 17 Iraqi policemen.

The explosion took place when the bomber rammed into a barrier outside the Iraqi police headquarters in southwestern Mosul on Friday morning.



I thought Iraq was a huge success?
Why are we still dying over there?
Why are we still pouring money into that mistake?
Anyone have any illusions about what's going to happen over there the second we leave?



Opinion:

President Obama had to sign a pact with ME (the Devil) to get elected. That pact said he would go against his better judgment & SLOWLY withdraw our troops from Iraq. I say it's time to renege on his deal with me & pull all our troops out IMMEDIATELY! (Good men & women are dying to save face & try to mollify a small minority of right wingers in this country!)
Enough!!...Get our people (& money) out of Iraq by the end of next week!!

That somehow the Afghan war is just and the Iraq war is unjust is the delusion of the left. If it's time to get out of Iraq then it's time to get out of Afghanistan and never should we bother Iran.

The way I see it, Obama wants to do the right thing but he is sucking up to the will of the leftists who hated the Iraq war because they hate Bush and they hate traditional America.

Believe me Richard, a number of us liberal Democrats are not happy with the Iraq withdrawal plans & think we should get the Hell out of there ASAP! (I understand the political pressures that President Obama faces in trying to end our mistake in Iraq, while not alienating either side to badly it would prevent his economic & other programs from being passed in Congress. Personally, I don't believe he has a chance of ever satisfying the Right Wing & should just discount their support for ANYTHING he does.(I do believe he is naive in that regard) He should pull out of Iraq IMMEDIATELY & get our NATO allies to REALLY fight with us in Afghanistan or pull our troops out of there too! (Afghanistan killed the Soviet Union & will be the death of us too, if we fall into the same trap!....Leave a residual force in the area that can swoop in....... kill Al Quieda & Taliban terrorists....& then Swoop out!!

If you want to start comparing campaign promises with what finally happens after election, I would be happy to compare ANY two candidates you choose or any former President. Campaign promises are simply "Sales Techniques" to get you to buy the product .....which rarely performs exactly as advertised.
