This became a concern because we are in the biggest financial meltdown since the Depression. Both sides of the aisle are not happy about the situation we are in and there's plenty of fingers to point at either side. Since we have already established you think it's some kind of rightest conspiracy kindly keep out of this thread unless you have something more to add to the discussion such as to what you disagree with about the policies they advocate. We're not going to go round and round and have yet another discussion ruined.

Richard s.,

I heard a comment the other day which concerns me and I do think it is true and our representatives have truly fail to represent us" Taxation without representation" which justifies the TEA Party's support. What are your thoughts on that and will these tea party's go unnoticed because of the truly biased media.
That begs another question what can be done about the media and what actions can be taken to get them to do their job and report honestly and accurately as they profess to do.

You have to remember there are those that don't acknowledge or respect the 1st amendment or Constitution which give the real government "WE THE PEOPLE"the right to "PROTEST"them that usurp our authority. Those that claim innocence of having a hand in this DEPRESSION are the very ones lying about how they're "messiah" is going to fix it. There are a lot of people involved in these "Tea Party's" and I wonder how many of them voted for "messiah" and finally came to their senses. I'll guess about 50+%.

Hehehe...prior to 01/21/09, those who protested the govt were "unpatriotic" according to your side. Now that you are forced to eat *censored* sandwiches because you lost, it's a first amendment issue. Got any more jokes?

I used to do a blog about television back in 2000/2001 or so (long before they were called blogs) called TelevisionBitch. In it,[b] I used to make fun of reporters standing in the dark doing liveshots about something that occurred hours earlier and is long gone by the time they are on teevee. And bad writing, and stupid stories where the reporter is nothing but a shill for the sales department (think local morning shows), and kid of the week stories, and pet of the week stories, and... and... and... The list would go on and on and on.

I have stated my problem with the entire reasoning behind the 2009 Tea Party already & will abide by your edict Richard, of limiting my comments to respond to " what you disagree with about the policies they advocate."
I have seen no such listing of policies they advocate & perhaps someone would be kind enough to post a link to where these policies may be found?
( My original post was against the reason for the protest & since the topic title is simply 2009 Tea Parties...I fail to see how my post isn't directly on target but would be happy to see what the protest specifics are).

Tough assignment for Bill.

As most who passed 8th grade American history learned, the Boston Tea Party was a protest in 1773 over taxation without representation, that is, over governments not elected by the people they were taxing.

Since we actually do elect our government here in the US of A, the concept makes absolutely no sense today. So these upcoming "Tea Parties" actually are for the "historically impaired," kind of a negative "achievement test" in history. 8-)
