Still Burning

Still Burning

PostBy: Paulie On: Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:37 am

Mid April and I am still burning at full tilt. The oil burner remains quiet. Looks like I will keep burning for quite some
time. 60s this weekend, so stove should back down some. Just not sure when I will shut it down. Looks like early May
the way things are going.

Yeah its been nippy here at night too. Pretty much backed down as much as I can and windows open during the day and idle at night. Might shut it down on Friday. Going to be 70 here.

Paule: I hope you kept some of the bagged coal you bought this summer for yourself? Did you ever get a 2nd load? How were sales? Any luck finding a stove company that was caught up and willing to sell to ya?

PS: I'm still running my stove too but it mostly idles.

Just nasty today. Never got out of the forties, and damp. Got home
with the bones chilled straight through. Bumped up the thermostat
to 74 and just baked like a reptile in front of the Pioneer. Nice

I turned the anthrastat down to 135* Sunday. My guess is I'll be shutting it down near the end of the month. We'll see what mother nature brings.
Is there a thread on proper shut down and strorage procedures?

I would search, I stumbled on it once or twice. I think the key is to clean it, and fog it with oil if not burning for summer.
Treat it like a marine engine in storage and it should be good.
