Well I thought about it when I was looking for a boiler and thought this shouldn't be a problem. My power went out in the middle of the night last night for about 3 hours and the boiler shut down. It took me about 5 minutes to re-light it and about 10 - 15 more minutes to start recovering, but it brought back my old thoughts of a battery back up for the boiler. Anyone know of any company that makes them??? Anyone engineer one for themselves??? I have a Keystoker KA-6 Direct Vent boiler so I have both the stoker and direct vent unit to power. I'm looking to just keep it running for a bout 4 -5 hours would be sufficient to start. Maybe solar panels for charging the batteries would be a nice expansion with an eventual move to running all the time from the solar panels and batteries as the ultimate "Green" update. Any thoughts???

Yes, I made one. See link below. Also, Harman makes one, but it was too pricey for me to buy.

That looks pretty good!!! I think I may take it a bit further and see about hooking up solar power. I was aware of the True Sine Wave Inverters and that fact that you need that for motors, but it is always great to point that out.
Thanks,
Mike
