I guess this summer is never going to come. I had expected to be done by now as I have posted before. I am still burning the Jotul 507 around the clock. It is idling. I guess I do not have to worry about cleaning the stove or summer storage. I hope this is not a sign as to what this winter will be like. Anyone else burning?

Hi Guys,

I'm torn between jealousy that you get to play with your stoves for so long and overjoyed that I shut mine down 1 APR. :D

It is now August 05 and the Jotul is still burning 24/7 at an idle. I just mined some old coal out of an old basement. I was able to recover two tons for $175. This price also included a few other items the home owner wanted out before she had the house torn down. I found some blue and red coal. Always interesting to find the painted coal. I have been burning some of the relcaimed coal for over two weeks now. I want to save it for this winter so I will change over to my blaschak coal. The stove is set with at one and a half draft setting and is idling at 300 degrees. I love burning coal in the summer. Yesterday a friend of mine who tried to burn stove coal in his outside wood burner called me and wanted to know if I wanted the remaining coal. I picked up a half ton of kimmels stove coal for free. This is good since I mix stove and nut when the temp falls below zero for weeks at a time. Only a few more weeks before I would usually start burning the stove. Looks like I will not have to start the stove since it will still be burning. I can't wait until the snow starts falling.
