I'll be the first to go if this is as bad as they say -- I'm takin' one for the team! Every time I go to the doctor's office, it's all about how many appointments they can make (CASH), & how many lab samples ($75 a pop WITH insurance) they can sign me up for. Frig that! I'll take my chances.

I'll watch the sheep from afar... ;) (no offense to any of you - just MHO)

Do on to others as they do on to you.. I just wanted to pick on you. I was floored with your Ted Nugent for VP thing.. You are so not Ted Nugent sir.. The fact that you seem to like him is kinda disturbing to me . I don't think you guys would get along, Ted is very down to earth and open minded guy, His line of thinking is way off base of yours..

I'm not promoting anything..

Yea, my doctor ok'd a shot for me too. I also received it yesterday. I'd rather get the shot then get seriously ill. I'm considered high risk. That sucks but that life in my world.

My high-risk son finally got the H1N1 vaccine today. Had to drive several hundred miles round trip from Massachusetts to Vermont which he says is having lots of clinics and taking all comers. Mass and Maine are still concentrating on shots for healthy children and college students and the high-risk people are being ignored. Maybe the theory is, vaccinate the major spreaders and you will help more people overall. Maybe the theory is they don't know what the hell they are doing.

update on my swine flu: fever broke this morning. headache gone, head congestion greatly reduced. Coughing worse. chest pain worse. lungs making wheezing and other strange noises. still tired. Overall I don't feel too bad. Appetite good. Not ready for prime time, though.

Looks like you skipped over the "feeling normal" part. My boy is on the couch next to me in about the same shape you are now. We're just making sure he's hydrated with a little Gatorade and a little Motrin from time to time.

Take it easy. As much as possible, I try to enjoy my sicknesses. It's the only time I have a legitimate excuse to lie around in bed. :D

I felt normal today. Now you got me worried. :D

Did your son get tamaflu early? The doctor told me it needs to be first administered while still feverish (contagious) in order to reduce the effect of the disease.

Hope he's better soon.

Thanks for reminding me to hydrate.

Both of my sons had the flu. My youngest threw up, my oldest did not. Both had a horrible cough and fevers. I took both of them to the doctors, since my youngest threw up, they stated he had the swine flu, while my oldest didn't threw up, he just had the regular flu. The doctor didn't need to do a blood test since there was an outbreak of the swine flu in Schuylkill County, PA and the only two people that would be tested for the swine flu would be those in the hospital or those who died from flu like conditions. Go figure... I read the paper everyday, and I did not know we had an "outbreak" of Swine Flu in Schuylkill County. Hmm???

Now the fun part, both kids were given the same medicine routine. Mortin for the fever for every four hours, and Cold and Cough medicine for when the fevers were down. I went to the local Wal-Mart to buy Mortin, I had to surrender my driver's license in order to purchase it, since apparently you can use Mortin to start a meth lab. I was only allowed to buy two bottles. Are we in America or Nazi Germany???
