Do a search, been discussed numerous times....

Harman VF3000 summer burning?

some burn all year for Domestic Hot Water. We went down a few weeks ago before vacation. But normally until the nights get warm enough you don't need it anymore.

I have a hand fired boiler, still cookin'. About 25# a day, I figure another week or two as it is still dipping to about 50* at night.

Cold & raw here this week but I shut down & sealed my stovepipes for the season. Have to run the furnace for a few days.

Burn the Alaska all year for DHW. I realize a stoker boiler will be more efficient and use less coal (probably a lot less!), it's in the works. Oil burning is not allowed here except in cases of extreme emergency!

Nice I was not even thinking of the hot water end. I have the dvc-500 on the lowest setting just a simmer. Weather has been wet and raw but inside is warm and dry.

I ran out of coal in the beginning of March -- used much more than anticipated after replacing my Mark I with a Mark III.

Insulation is in the works for this year!

Still burning. I was expecting to shut down last week, however, it has been cold at night and not very warm during the day. If the weather stays like it is, I'll probably will be burning until June 1st.

The 'rents 503 is still burning!

Still in the 30*'s range in the morning so we are still heating.

I never shut my boiler down except for maintenance, and burn bituminous

coal all summer even with 90* temperatures and have no trouble keeping

a good fire burning.

I cover the barometric damper in this warmer weather because now I

never have any trouble with trying to pull draft through the deep bed

of ash for a long burn of 24 hours or more. The ash buildup slows the fire

after 12 hours or so.

Still burning! Did not plan on burning past June 1st, however, we are now into the second week of June and I am still burning the stove. Did not expect to be burning into May as I was shut down May 1st last season. We had another hard frost a couple nights ago. The stove is throttled back to keep the chill out, however, it is still burning 24/7. At this rate I will not have to worry about restarting it in Sept for I'll still be burning.

It has been the coldest and wettest June on record down here. But no where near in need of the stove.
