Do you have a way to unload all that, or do they do it for the price? (I think I know the answer to that one) Or will the driver wait while you & a crew hand unload?

You are responsible to off load the coal. I have a backhoe with forks so it is not a problem for me to off load. As far as off loading by hand your talking 900 - 50 lb bags and that can take some time unless you have a lot of bodies. As far as time wise for the driver to wait you will have to ask. Some truckers have a time limit and charge by the hour after that limit is up, most drivers will help you off load but not all. Thats called tail gate delivery.

$337 per ton for Blaschak bagged in Central Mass delivered. $404 per pallet with #60 40lb bags.

OUCH!! AWWW my bank account!! $337/ton! I'd say cheaper to burn oil -- I'm pretty close at $288/ton.


Thanks for the info Mazzy. That's what I figured. I wanted to buy some heavy equipment for that, & other purposes, last year....... but this year is looking like I'll be closer to poverty. I'd have to figure equipment rental into the equation. Should have done it last year when I had the dough!

I just paid $270 a ton for bagged picked up, I could have paid $210 for bulk picked up. (40) 50lbs bags in upstate NY

Smitty, Get the tractor now. New Holland still has the 0% Financing and "No Interest, No Payment" Specials. I used it 4 years ago when I bought my Boomer. It really was a good deal.

As mentioned most are going to expect for you to be ready for the delivery and have a method to off load it, if it's a dump they are going to expect to be able to dump it and leave. If you have any special requests or their might be an issue with the delivery such as tight driveway or other problems make them aware of it.

Some may have the ability to offload it for you and others may be willing to make exceptions to the time. Just make sure they understand the situation before they get there. They have schedules to meet and a truck sitting idle isn't making any money.

This is down from $300/skid last year.

I'm looking for some recommended coal suppliers that would deliver to the Selinsgrove / Kreamer area. Anyone have some suggestions. I would prefer oiled rice coal, but would settle for watered if I had to.

I just got 4 ton rice delivered yesterday afternoon for 165.00 a ton. Last year in august the price was 150.00 per ton delivered. NEPA

Ironically I put my order in the same day the climate bill passed . Nice big carbon footprint here for all you tree huggers out there
