A lumber yard in Mystic, CT has bagged coal at $400 a ton. It was hard to get a bulk price out of them. When I told them my last load cost me $201 a ton delivered (18 ton) they didn't know what to think. At the price they want (need?) you might as well burn oil.

Just ordered rice coal for $240 per ton of South Temaqua from Walter Hendricks in Hilltown PA delivered to Flemington NJ for $20. His delivery fee is $20 regardless of how much or how little you order. His truck can hold 7 tons so if you need more than 4 tons he can do it in one shot.

I will plan on calling around and trying a some from someone else. I pick up myself 3/4 at a time and need to get it every 2-3 weeks. unfortunately I just got some on friday. not everybody in the area makes stove coal... I didnt like jeddo...hazleton shaft doesnt make it. will shop around a bit thanks for the info. any suggestions???

I wouldn't be to concerned with it being british owned. It has to employ pennsylvanians to mine and process, and if a few british owners make a couple bucks in the end, that wouldn't make me to mad, our own american executives aren't any better than any other executive. Use the coal that works best for you.

you are right. but I have only tried stove coal from that place... I would like to at least try it somewhere else... my usual solution is to ask around... but the coal burning guys in my area burn in their home and dont use stove coal....right now with the warmer air anyway I am burning a blend of stove and the nut/pea mix i have...

I paid $175.00 for 1250# of bagged Blaschak. I really have to get around to building a coal bin, getting too old to be throwing around 40 and 50# bags of coal. I could get 2 tons delivered for about $230.00 a ton, even cheaper if I shop around but I really like Blaschak
