AA-130 Boiler From Base

Any tips on removing the boiler from the base.I'm having trouble at the bottom of the funnel where the flat piece of metal is welded on.All bolts are removed.Will the bottom of the funnel rotate. Thanks Coalboy

There is a 1/4" bolt that holds it on (popes nose) and chances are it will just snap off, releasing the funnel. If you can't get it off, grind the head off the bolt and punch the remainder to the inside. If it's an old timer, it may be rotted anyway....time to replace it. That isn't holding the base to the boiler section, but will be damaged if you lift and then lower the boiler from the base. You can block up the boiler section on a couple 4 by 4's and the not have to remove the funnel. Good luck. ;) :roll:
