MA Motorcycle inspection laws change with the wind.....

I've been riding since 1985 and never had a bike inspected. Then again, I think I get away with it because I don't ride like an azz so I don't get pulled over. None of my friends have inspected bikes either.
Does Ma$$. have some way of knowing your vehicle is uninspected without you getting pulled over? If so, I expect RI will adopt it when the cash starts flowing again.

A cop can either just look at the color of your sticker (right on the plate next to the reg. sticker), or lack of, or run your plate.

Everything is right there at his fingertips: How many times your plate was run, your entire driving & criminal history going back to the day your were born, etc,etc. If he sees your a young punk with a long record, you're gonna get yanked. Since those days are a ways behind me, I actually haven't had the bike inspected since '06 -- haven't ridden much -- been working waaaaaaay too hard!

For cars/trucks, you'll get a friendly "reminder" in the mail that your failed vehicle needs to be re-inspected ................ or your gonna get fisted by Ted Kennedy! Then they blow the tree-hugger horn about how if your car passes emissions, you'll keep xxx,xxx lbs of CO2 out of our precious air.

I'll ponder that one while I burn some tires & styrofoam ....

I probably could do that with some careful surgery & some epoxy, but it would just destroy the look I have going. Looks MINT when parked When the key is off, they actually are clear with a very slight tint. My bike is mostly black with just enough chrome, so the lights look mint, IMO. I couldn't bear to look at it with red lenses on! But the bigger problem would be the water infiltration from the next monsoon I get caught in ( happens every year, like clockwork, when I'm hundreds of miles from home in a t-shirt! ). I'd have to use caulking, which wouldn't look very pretty.

It's much easier to just break the law! ( Judas Priest breaks out ) Darrel was completely wasting.......

Good old Ma$$ gottalove living here. The Dept of Revenue has been chasing me sence 2004 saying I owe them $1500 for state tax. Well I worked in RI lived in MA paid $1600 to both RI + MA in 2004. They sent a levy to a vender of mine and they sent MA $2900 in stead of paying me. I got an amnesty form from Ma paid them another $400 and now where square. I recentlly sent them copies of 2004 state tax form. They owed me a refund for 2004 that I never got. So now they got $3300 of my money plus the refund I never got which is another $100 thats $3400. Now the appeal forms says you only got 3 years to appeal !! . So the usps mail ""Federal'' didn't deliver my state tax form to MA "STATE" in 2004 and I'm out $3400 and can't do anything WTF

I sent in some complaint forms, & of course got nowhere with the sticker issue. The AMA wouldn't even touch it -- they know the politics of MA obviously.

DAMN THIS PLACE!!!!!! I hope it secedes in the near future (it should -- has nothing in common with any other part of the union besides Cali & Vermont). That will give me a push to move the hell out of this cesspool!

Mass law enforcement Strikes again! Smitty, beware of this one. We were going to Princeston to Bob's for Bike night on the bikes. On the way at the Rt 140 an Rt 62 they were pulling over every motorcycle! There were tons of cops and RMV was there to greet us as well. One of the guys we were with got a fine for loud exhaust and non DOT approved helmet. What I dont understand is why they were pulling over all the bikes and not just the ones that were too loud or something that was obviously illegal. My Harley is bone stock except for some chrome, wtf did I get pulled over for?! I hate this f'ing state!

I moved to NH from the Peoples Republic of MA 35 years ago, around the same time MA put in their new gun laws.
One of the first things they did was to erect huge signs at the state line on roads coming from New Hampshire warning people of the the MA guns laws. That's when the fun began. Withing a few weeks some of the signs has so many bullet holes in them that they had to be replaced with new (smaller) signs located a half mile further into MA.

About that same time the Peoples Republic of MA started a campaign to attract more people to the state. Part of the campaign was bupper stickers that said “Make It In Massachusetts”.
Some company in NH quickly got out a hot selling bumper sticker that said “Make It In Massachusetts, Spend It In New hampshire”.

I remember those bumper stickers -- it used to make my father FURIOUS every time he saw one of those ' make it in massachusetts' STICKERS on some *censored*'s car!

Then we started seeing ones that said " NOT MAKING IT IN MASSACHUSETTS " & it had the thumb pointing down! My ol' man loved that -- he'd laugh about that the rest of the day!

WTF is with this *censored* place???? God forbid they target people who can afford it: MERCEDES, BMW, FERRARI owners who drive like the whole world is supposed to bow down to them!! (When I punch one of them in the face they won't be able to sue me! ) It's getting worse than I ever dreamed -- I think it's because now that Dems are running the show in D.C., now they have the green light to do whatever the hell the feel like doing. Raise taxes, force law enforcement to pull over working class folks for no good reason to extort more taxes, etc... State gov't must have watched too many Soprano's episodes. I wish people would band together & fight these sons of bitches!!!! If it starts getting anything close to the way it was during the depression, I might get what I wish for ......... & in numbers that will keep everyone on Beacon Hill up all night in fear.

Just an update to the topic at hand ..... I decided there is no point in getting the Harley inspected this late in the season. Waste of money. But I did get a sticker for the RD. Isn't MA great? I can't get a sticker for a 5 yr old Harley-Davidson, but had no issues whatsoever getting one for a 36 year old Yamaha!

Just goes to show that you should choose your inspector VERY WISELY. DO NOT get a bike inspected at a place that works on cars....... especially if that place is in Leicester. You've been warned!
