Interesting data. Note the additional sheets for the details. Which mine or mines provide Superior breaker its coal?

Yeah, need a cross ref against the Mine ID# and the mine name.

A very informative session. :D

Will there be a coalcast in the month of July? At the end of the last broadcast there was an indication that there would be but no announcement.

Thanks in advance,
Will

It's coming. :) We've had a couple of scheduling problems. Current target is to do it next Thursday, July 16th.

pvolcko wrote:JC, where did you get those numbers? I don't doubt them, just wondering what the source is. I brought up some 2007 numbers from the EIA. 15 mines, 190+ employees, 224KTons total PA production from underground anthracite mines. Bit different than what you provided, but not too far off. Not sure what the mine count would be different, but EIA listed employees whereas you're providing miners so that explains that discrepency.

2007 figures, published sept 2008. Latest report from that agency. The have quarterly reports too, but not the detailed breakdown of surface vs underground mines and they don't include employment figures.

First the numbers are in my head second I get them from two Places. One is MHSA # 2 is PA.DEP The state gets their
Reports from the Mine & Mining Owners & Operators so if the info is not the same as the Feds then someone is not filling out the correct numbers on the reports for the state . I also Talk to several Mine owners on a Regular basis
