Hi,
We have a Chubby Moe wood stove that someone gave to us. We are trying to find out ANY information on the stove. There seems to be very little on the web. Has anyone heard ofthis stove? We need to replace the glass in the front and a handle :!:

Thanks

Here are a couple of links to search http://www.woodmanspartsplus.com . They may have some parts for your stove and possibly provide some history for you. If my memory serves me correct, I think there was an issue between Fisher Stoves, Inc. and Allnighter Stove Works on the design usage. I think that is why neither of them are around anymore. Maybe someone on the forum can correct me or has more information to add. :) DOUG

Hi Doug,
Yes I found both these websites but there in next to nothing on the Chubby Moe. I did find the information on the legal issue as well between Fisher and All Nighter Stove Works. Its weird that there is not much on the Chubby. I found Big Moe and Moe Jr. but thats about it. I should take a pic and post it.

Maybe the chubby moe name was too close to the Coal Chubby, made by Plymouth Stove Works, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Just a guess. http://www.chubbystove.com Yes, I would definitely post some pictures! We all love to see pictures. I noticed that pictures that are posted in a topic generally get more responses. There is a good group of members here on the forum and they love sharing their wealth of knowledge and experiences. :) DOUG

Going to the cottage this weekend I will take a picture and post next week. It does not look like the other moe stoves either. It doesn't have the look of the other moe's with the two level top. I wonder if this is a rare stove

That looks like a nice stove. I see what you mean, you need some handles and some glass. As for the handle, take a look at this
http://www.usstove.com/proddetail.php?prod=89574
This link is broken, either the page no longer exists or there is some other issue like a typo.
. I think that it maybe just what you are looking for. I prefer the metal spring handles over the wooded ones. The wood ones always seem to crack or burn themselves off. I'd try a search on ebay for some mica.

. Mica is a crystal that looks like glass and can be used in stoves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mica . Mica has been used in stoves for fire viewing for over one hundred years. Just some thoughts for fixing you Chubby Moe. :) DOUG
