Finally a subject we can sink our teeth into.

Finally a subject we can sink our teeth into.

Now that "he who must not be named" is no longer here, this isn't going to be nearly as much fun, but I'll give it a go.....

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/31014239

Remember all the apoplexy over "terrorists" because they beheaded a few people? Remember when we had to overthrow Saddam because he was such a bad guy?

These our are "FRIENDS"

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Saudi authorities beheaded and crucified a man convicted of brutally slaying an 11-year-old boy and his father, the Interior Ministry announced.

According to an Associated Press count, Friday's execution brought the number to 35 beheading this year in the kingdom. In 2008, 102 people were beheaded.

GWB goes for hand holding walks in the Rose Garden with the leader of this country and BHO genuflects to him?

Ever heard the term "arrogant American"? Ever wonder why they "hate us"?

Whats the problem? It`s their laws, you can`t expect them to put the man away in a nice prison with three hots & a cot for life & then release him after serving some time.

What ever did happen to Devil505? It is like he has vanished into cyberspace.

I was told a story by someone who lived in Saudi Arabia for a while who is credible. They lived in a compound for non-islamic "visitors" working in the kingdom about 20 years ago. An Englishman was one of there nighbors in that compound. He (the Englishman) tauwnted the religious authorities by doing things like holding his girlfriends hand in public (off the compound) and giving her a smouch. He appairently got a kick out of the commotion it created. The "religious police" would slap his legs with sticks and scold him to show their dissaproval of his behavior which just incouraged this guy to do things that aggitated them even more. He disappeared. My friend implied that it is likely (not a proven fact) that his bones are bleaching in the desert. After hearing that story I nevered trusted Islamic fundimentalist to behave in a rational maner. Events since then hasn't done anything to change my mind.

As to the beheaded and crusified molester/murderer, it sounds like justice was done in that case. I think the way it was done is barbaric. I don't pretend to be an expert but it is the "traditional" form of exicution there. All executions, even though rational men may deem them necessary, are barbaric, some just more so than others. Death is ugly.

I think that when you visit or live in another country you abide by their laws or expect to be punished or forced to leave. Unlike the people that sneak into the U.S. & then demand their rights. If you are here without going thru the proper channels you shouldn`t have any rights period, in a lot of other countries you would be deemed a spy. You don`t have to agree with others laws or beliefs but if your in their country you should respect them. I think that is where the term arrogant or ugly american came from.

True, there are ugly arrogant Americans but people are people. America isn't the only place in the world that that produces ugly arrogant people that travel abroad or meddle in other's affairs.

Saudi is a closed country so you just do not walk in to visit if you feel like it; you must have a reason to be there and be let in by the Government, therefore you are a ‘guest’.
The compounds are like the Vatican in Italy, sovereign ground essentially. It is walled off from the ‘watchers’, to give the insiders some respite from the outsiders.
Some people insist that you remove shoes before you enter their house, some don’t.
Their rules may seem odd or strange but you are a ‘guest’ in their house and you either follow the rules or you leave.
Just like this country there are rules and if you break them you pay a price.
Sometimes in Saudi that price is the loss of you head.
Capital punishment is a hot button and a beheading is a very graphic visual aid, much like a hanging was on the Frontier in the early days of our western expansion.
Done properly a beheading is a rather humane form of punishment relative to a stoning.

You don't keep poking the gorilla with a pointy stick because eventually he'll get you. The Englishman was warned and knew the consequences regardless of right or wrong that was done to him. If continually you taunt somebody they're going to take action. As for murdering an 11 year old boy he got what he deserved regardless of how the death penalty is carried out you still end up dead. As noted in a prior post dead criminals are not repeat offenders.

I'm sure Saddam had very good reasons to kill people. From my understanding, as long as you kept your head down, you were OK. If you caused trouble, or spoke out against Saddam, you ended up in a cell. His country, his rules right?

I'm sorry YOU can't see the difference. And the problem in backing up one group of murdering psychopaths over any other group of murdering psychopaths.

There is a difference the person being beheaded in your story commited a crime. And his punishment was beheading. Saddam killed people for no good reason other then he didnt want them alive. The people saddam killed didnt commit any crimes. So i would say there is a huge difference there.

And to top it off i cant believe your still bashing bush. Let it go. Your messiah is in power now, try to be HAPPY! :D
