PM Boxes, Managing the Limit

PM Boxes, Managing the Limit

PostBy: Richard S. On: Tue Jun 02, 2009 4:29 pm

The maximum number of messages per box is currently set to 200, this for the most part will only effect the "Inbox". By default when this limit is reached you will no longer be able to receive any new PM's and they will be held in the senders "Outbox" until you make room for them.

You can make room by manually deleting old messages or moving them to a custom box (see below). You can also change the default behavior so old messages will automatically be deleted.

  • Click the link "Rules, folders & settings"
  • On the bottom next to "If folder is full:" select "Delete Old Messages"
  • Use the submit button named "change"

In addition to the Inbox you can have up to four additional boxes for grand total of 1000 message storage capacity. The custom boxes can be named whatever you want, for example you might want to create a "Saved" box to move important messages to if you're using the delete messages automatically.
....I'm hitting yet another problem that's based on the hopeless state of our databases. There
is no uniform data integrity, it's just a catalogue of issues that continues to grow as they're found
