Satyrday coffee & breakfast with added cyber fiber

Good day! Coffee is ready and a good ol' hunters breakfast awaits. Not quite hunting season, but good food reigns king all year round. Gosh, it's almost the 4th of July! Between nursing home duties for mother in law and an incredible amount of work coming in I don't get much computer time. Mom in laws hospital bed is beside the computer so it's tough to use it now. I'm on the worlds slowest laptop in my shop. Things like email are way too memory intensive for it. I should replace the crank on the side with an electric source.
I hope everyone is having a good year. Enjoy the warm weather while it's here. It won't be long before leaves start to turn colors, but that will be covered in a future chapter.
Freddy

Good morning! Decent weather last night. Was finally able to keep house windows open all night. Came into the living room this morning to see our dog sniffing strangely at the window screen. It kinda looked like he was sniffing into a mirror, as there was a deer outside the window, sniffing into the window screen at the dog! Amazing our dog didn't start his usual Deer-Greeting "Bark-Growl-Bark-Growl". Then I noticed our dog was drooling down his chin. He must've been dreaming of Venison Steak!! :D

A fine EARLY June day to all...freddy, easy on the 'already the forth of July' .....then leaves falling.
Summer isn't even fired up yet, so take a step back and let us enjoy some warm weather.
Damn coy dawgs (coyotes) are sniffing around every night and the 12 gauge is handy if you know what I mean.
Bears and cubs are 'bird feeder hunting', Canada geese and young keep us smiling, Our Loon pair have six young and they are really cute little guys to watch swimming around. Deer are eying the gardens while eating on the edge of the lawns....Unfortunately many Moose strikes on the roads....'bike weekend starts today, so the sounds of American Thunder pass close to my house day and night, two weeks from now NASCAR comes for the Lenox 300. Boilers shut down for maintenance for a couple weeks. oil is $2.12, gasoline $2.54. SSDD.
For those of us whose folks have passed, we know where you are freddy, for those not there yet....it's our way of giving back for all the years parents and loved ones already gave to us.
Sunny and warm, flowers look and smell great, green hay fields, lawns and gardens...nice to be alive!

PS: I noticed that the 'special coffee shop' in Vasselboro has been 'torched' and is soliciting donations with 'clad' waitresses serving free coffee for donations to rebuild. My vote says it won't succeed......

Hi all,

Summer is here in Northern VA. I have tomatoes the size of golf balls on the plants. Our major concern is too much rain. The thunder storms just keep rolling out of the Shenadoah. Our 9 month old puppy has started ripping up my Blaschk coal bags and digging through the coal. It's driving me crazy. I put red pepper on the bags and that stops it but then it rains and we have to start all over again. It's getting old fast. It's a problem I have to solve before I get the rest of the coal for next year. Any suggestions? I hope everyone has a great day! Take care, Lisa

Lisa: Fit the puppy to a wagon and explain to him or her that the next ripped bag will be replaced by a 'puppy driven wagon' to Ravine and back, full of HEAVY bags of black gold!
Jealous of your tomatoes! Mine are only in the ground for three weeks and the cold wx and rain aren't the best for growing. It is 78 out right now, so the bikers will be loving the riding, and everyone else will be wishing for 'stock mufflers'. Enjoy!

Lisa, Our dog was a "Chewer" too. Nothing you can do about it. We did the red-pepper thing too. He would just start foaming at the mouth, but keep chewing! You could tell it was painfull for him. Just get him ALOT of chewy-toys, starting with rawhide bones, so he is attracted by the flavor, then lots of Rope-toys, and Squeekies if he likes. Ours does not like balls of any kind, maybe cuz he doesn't have any? :cry2:
If your lucky, in 6 months he'll only chew on his designated toys, or he could completely outgrow the chewing altogether.
Good Luck!
