Fort Indiantown Gap
Hi guys, I have to take a trip later this month to the Eastern PennDot Training Facility, near Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on hotels/motels to stay in for the week. I never been there and would like it to be fairly close. I'm enrolled in the PennDot's School Bus Instructor Coordinator Institute, being held at the Fort Indiantown Gap, Pa, Training Facility on Shale Road. Any help?
Also, since I'm out you guys way, Pittsburgh slang , I'd like to visit a few places, if the time allows. I'd like to see some Anthracite Coal Stove dealers. Anyone have a secret hole in the wall diner or food establishment I should visit?
Thanks for the help, DOUG

Doug, ask that question to PennDot, or the person that set up your trip. They probably have a list of nearby hotels to the training facility.
Also, AAA could set you up with a hotel, if your a member.
Also, you can use Google/Maps to locate the town, then type in 'Hotels' to find hotels in the area.
Good Luck!

Thanks, I was given a listing of hotels/motels and directions from PennDot. I was hoping for some inside local information from a few members which live around there which may help make my decision on where to stay, good local places to eat and coal places to visit. Thanks for the response though. DOUG

Doug wants the inside scoop to the local dives that have great food and lodging.
Where do the locals go to get theirs.
There are a bunch of pizza shops here but only a few do I go to and only one is the best.
You would drive right by this place and not think twice!
Local Color abounds!
The best pizza and they have been there 30 years!
If you don't want to let loose of the best places atleast tell him where not to go!

Hi Guys,
I just got back from Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. What a beautiful area. I visited a few places while I was there. I was at PennDot's traing center, Reading Stove Company, Kaufmanns BBQ, and checked out some of the older military aircraft. I had a good time and now back to work.
