Maine

We just returned from a weeklong trip to the beautiful Northeast United States. Our final destination was Bar Harbor Maine. We stayed in a beautiful rental only a stones throw from Acadia National Park, hiked a few of the trails in the national park and walked the famous Carriage roads.Shopped in Bar Harbor. And ate in a few great places. If any of you are thinking of such a trip, MAKE IT !!!!! It is quite possibly the most beautiful scenery I have seen so far in my life. Be prepared though, take hiking or biking gear and start early, you will definately need the time to see it all. The weather was not the best but you need to dress for it. The fog and rain that Downeast Maine is noted for was our constant companion, except for 1 day.
The best thing was, my son saw the ocean for the first time in his life, he's 12. A very memorable time for us.
I have to say, I will need to see this again.

For all you Mainahs' on the board, you are lucky to have such a wonderful place.

Drive 2 hours east and you'll see where my family lives. I've made the pilgrimage a couple times. Nice country but I'm glad my grandmother moved away. There's only so much peace and quiet I can take! :D

Don't come.

Stay away.

Traffic is bad enough between Memorial day and Labor day as it is.

But serioulsy. You know guys, I've lived in Maine all but 6 years of my life and I've only been to Bar Harbor once. I loved it! It's a great place to visit. Just don't forget to have a few lobsta's while your there. Acadia National Park is beautiful.
