I've been a GM fan my whole life ...... until I had the burden of owning this COMPLETE PILE OF *censored*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The wipers are frigged up, so I take the steering column covers off to test the multifunction switch. Now the security light stays lit -- not flashing -- & it cranks no problem, fires for a second then dies. The code is something with the anti-theft disabling the fuel.

My question is WTF is causing it to think I'm trying to steal it???

I've already spent thousands in repairs on this thing over the last 2 years ...... I'm reaching the end of my rope!!

You have company.
I have a 95 4 door 4wd Jimmy, got it free with a blown motor. The truck has a rough history- my friend's brother went right off the end of his road with it. That year had big problems with the ABS- the pedal could go right to the floor with no braking. It sat wrecked in his yard for a year. Then they had it repaired and his brother took it. The 4.3 V6 has a remote oil filter, the oil line blew and the kid ran it with no oil in it. Spun bearings. I was really into this truck; I got a Promar longblock for it, pulled the motor, got everything swapped over, and got 15,000 miles use out of it. Gutted the ABS- straight brakes now.
Then the trans blew and I pulled it and had it rebuilt. While this was being done I dropped the gas tank and found a MOUSE mummy in it. Millions of mouse hairs were in the fuel pump filter screen. Must have been a junkyard gas tank is all I can figure. I cleaned everything up, got the trans and took a lot of gravel in my back putting it back in. Then the truck had a bad vibration, I thought it was a botched trans job. I still don't know. I keep it around like Norman Bates kept his mother. It starts and runs, but roughly. No energy or ambition to find the problem. I guess I should get a fuel pressure test first, then compression test it. Three shops didn't even want to look very far into the problem. It was a decent beater for a while, now an albatross. Junkyard vultures offer me $250 for it.

I bought this thing off Ebay & found out after the deal was done that it was a rental -- had I known that to begin with, this thing would still be down south! Figures, the day I bid on it, the free Carfax report on the auction was down. Goes up again as soon as the guy calls me to accept my offer.

I get the thing delivered & the first thing I do is check the oil, then I remove the radiator cap & find THIS:

So then I flush out the radiator, change the thermostat, & take it for a drive. Now it gets up to temperature, but the 4 x 4 don't work. After replacing about 5 miles of disintegrated vacuum lines, I get the check engine light just before going for a sticker. Turns out the cat is junk. I look at it & it's a aftermarket piece of crap that was half-ass welded in place. So I drop over $500 on new Y pipe/cat assembly, now I notice it handles like crap, so I jack it up by the control arms & check for play -- which it has IN EVERY COMPONENT!!  So now, upper/lower ball joints, inner/outer tie-rod ends, idler arm & pitman arm! WHAT'S NEXT??? A tranny code, that's what!! Now drop the pan, & replace the 1-2 shift solenoid. Now, we have wipers that only work on HI, no Hi beams, a large coolant leak somewhere in back of the engine where it's impossible to see & a power window switch that works BACKWARDS - the express-down feature is now an EXPRESS UP!! The GM GUILLOTINE!! :wtf:

BY FAR -- biggest piece of *censored* I have ever owned in my LIFE!!
