Are you a Democrat or Republican? Redux

I voted, funny pole, conservative repub with hand fired here. I've always specified 'conservative' as there's plenty of liberal Republicans, and yes even conservative Democrats, that make labeling the parties as just 2 entities vague. It's always been that way to a degree. Reagan was a Dem until 'the party left him', to paraphrase, think about that!

I was a Republican up until the hard push to the far right in the mid to late 90s. Now I'm an avowed Independent and I vote for the candidate, not the letter in front of them.

Bottom line is that both sides are corrupt. Neither is in the right and the GOP is so far removed from a true Conservative party that it should change its name.

Would a Libertarian be considered an Independent for the purposes of this poll?

the third option is Independent/other party so yes it would.

I think we need more options so we can REALLY split the vote & even if someone worthwhile comes along, he'd probably get lost in the bickering.

I also used to believe in repub. ideals, still do on some, but after the disastrous national embarrassment of GW, and CONvincing Americans that Iraq had wmd,and needed to be invaded, I lost ALL respect for the republicon party. I am NOT stupid enough to believe any of their LIES.

come on scotty, how many working grunts can afford to hire a union electrician today? I know this old farmer can't. If a union has enough political pull, as yours does, you SHOULD be real content.

I do all my electrical, plumbing, car repair, etc (and coal moving of course!) ...

Democrats are the old communists
Republicans are the old democrats
Libertarians are the old republicans

Many changes in political party ideals in last 50 years ....

You know that by being in a union you are supporting a socialist organization, right?

Same goes for military.

Damn, aside from the military part, don't tell me we almost agree on something PS--I also do my own elec., etc. work but when a final inspection is needed,I know--that's communism at it's best--I need to have it signed off by a licensed, usually union electrician. When building a barn, it's kinda hard to sneak it up on a Sunday afternoon & hope nobody will notice.

I am a registered republican. I would probably be an independent, except they would never be able to win a national election. I think the most important vote comes in the primary election where you get to vote for who you want to represent your party. All I know for a fact is that 4 more years of Obama will destroy and bankrupt this country. I retired earlier then I planned on because of Obama. I want to spend my retirement money before I lose it all to Obamas policies. I figure when I get done spending all my money on things like snowmobiles, boats. ATV's vacations, and such things, I will just get on the government hand outs, like half of the country already are.
