Our tomato plants just started producing, big time. And now the cold weather begins  Well, we got a dozen or so ripe tomatos, I guess thats it for this year. The green ones on the vine are going to be hard, IF they ripen at all.

Fried green tomatoes ... wife loves them. Or you can pickle them like they do in Lancaster Co.

Fried Green Tomatoes:
6 large green tomatoes, sliced 1/2 thick
mix together
    2 Cup fine corn meal
    1/2 Cup flower
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
    1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
    1 teaspone paprika
    Satl and pepper to taste
Dip tomato slices 1 @ a time in
    1 Cup milk
then coat with cornmeal mixture - shake off excess
Heat 1 Cup veg. oil over
    a coal fired appliance ;)
till you sizzle a drop of water.
Fry them till golden brown and crips on both sides. Serve pain, w/salt and pepper or mayo.

Target practice while still on the vine with the pellet rifle. :D
I knocked off a ground hog a few months ago with this pellet rifle. Gamo. I got him in the head. Dropped him on the spot at 50yds.

You have a .177 or a .22 cal pellet rifle? I never had any luck with em. I always use CB's in my .22 cal Mossy. With a scope, its deadly but silent. :D

The Gamo is a .177 with a 3x9 scope. What's a CB?
I knocked off a crow earlier this year too. Head shot from the bedroom window. It was too easy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.22_CB

.22 CB Cap (Conical Ball Cap) is a variety of .22 caliber rimfire ammunition which has a very small propellant charge (usually no gunpowder, just the primer), resulting in a low muzzle velocity of between 350 and 700 ft/s (110 to 210 m/s).[2] This is similar to the muzzle velocity produced by a low to mid-power .22 pellet gun, however the bullet from a .22 CB cartridge is significantly heavier than a typical airgun pellet and therefore carries more energy. In longer rifle barrels the CB has a seemingly non-existent, very quiet report due to the lack of residual pressure at the muzzle

We no longer have a crow problem :D :D

I just picked up a Gamo -- first BB gun I've owned since my Crossman .177 over 25 yrs ago. When I first fired that Gamo I almost *censored*!! Sounds just like a .22 going off!  Looks just like one too.....

I could pump that Crossman 30 times & not even come close to the 1 pump firepower of that Gamo. Ain't technology great?!?! :woot: :punk: I got those Raptor "real gold" pellets that are supposed to go 1200 fps!! Best BB gun in history!
