One more quick question:

Is the ash pan big enough to hold all the ashes from a full 200 pound hopper?

All depends on the coal quality, I don't think it will hold the entire 200# of coal in ash,

I always empty mine when it get about 1/2-3/4 full, it gets pretty heavy if you let it fill all the way up. Make sure you get 2 ash pans, makes it much easier! :)

You can get about #150 if you shake it down. Dave is right, it gets heavy when full.
Thanks,

i just empty mine daily. you need to watch the coal in the hopper any way. coal doesnt flow well and you will get a hole down one side of the hopper and your stove will go out even though there is still 50# or so in the hopper
