Wow man someone in the spirit world don't like you one bit! :(

I've been there - I know the feeling ... but not with cars ..... was just as bad though. Hang in there man. Someday you will look back at it and laugh - I never thought it would happen, but it did.

IOF, sorry to hear about your problems with the car, I certainly hope things work out OK. So where was the first repair done, do tell!

If I had something to give away as a prize, this man would win.

The dealer I took it to in Virginia says that by what I've described it sounds like one of the head gaskets went bad so they feel the original dealer will have to pay.

I'm not counting on it. Either way, I'm done with Subaru World of Newton.

Someone from where we we're heading to is coming to pick us up from the hotel so we can at least enjoy the vacation. But he's been driving since 1am to get here. We feel bad.

Here's the courtesy car the dealer let us use for the evening.

I peeked in the dealer this morning, they were closed but the car was already in the garage, on the lift and had some stuff already taken off of it.

You just rolled in from out of state and they gave you a car to use? That was nice of them.

Subarus are great cars. They are extremely popular here in Maine because they are so good in winter. BUT what a reputation for bad head gaskets! Several used-car dealerships that specialize in Subs often include a note in their advertisements saying "head gaskets have been replaced".

And they also rust as bad as Fords, except for parts of the fuel & brake lines that run thru the interior rocker panels ....

Even way back when I was young & they didn't prime & paint cars like now they rusted but not as bad, fast & everywhere like today. I've seen the same cars from Southern states that aren't rusted then & now, it's not just salt it's that liquid crap that you can even taste in the air when your close.

A guy who does bodywork told me OLD oil can cause more corrosion than it prevents, and that I should use NEW oil. Don't know if he's right or not. Also don't know how old is OLD -- in other words, if it's been in my engine for 4000 miles, is it OLD or still pretty new?

If that were the case, every 2-stroke Detroit Diesel would be long gone by now.
