Don't know if you are kidding or not. But it is not OK. It is a slippery slope. I read a great book a few years ago, titled "Eat the Rich" by P.J. O'Rourke. I thought it was going to be comedy, but it was quite serious. The gist -- at least what I came away with -- is that almost any economic system can be successful, IF everyone knows the rules and the rules are consistently enforced. Sure, some of the rules may be dumb and inefficient, but you factor that in to your business decisions to decide whether any given enterprise will be successful or not. But once the rules become arbitrary, with no enforcement, dog eat dog, then the country goes to hell. Why build up a business if, as soon as you become successful, every tin pot government official can bleed you dry at his whim? Why invest in the stock market if some corporate shyster can strip the assets and leave your stock worthless? Once corruption like that becomes the rule rather than the exception, nobody trusts anybody any more, business stagnates, citizen unrest grows, and pretty soon you have a failed country instead of the paradise it could have been. Case in point: half the countries in Africa. Don't let's go there.
OK, I'm off my soap box for now. Carry on.
