Skunks smell so much worst then people realize. They deaden your sense of smell almost immediately. I had to dispose of a skunk my wife caught in her have a hart trap a week or so ago. I ONLY picked the trap up by the handle and dumped out the dead skunk. When I went inside I was ordered to remove the offending items of clothing. I had to bag and dispose of all cloths and sneakers. I took a shower with laundry detergent and the next morning I could smell the skunk stink in the bottom of the shower. Man they are really nasty critters  Scott
