Well here I am again, I'm sure I had too much Saturday coffee......
I am writing from my gaming pc, somehow lost my network connection on my main pc. I installed a pci firewire card on my main pc with the older motherboard, I tried it on 2 different pci slots and it wouldn't install correctly. Firewire card is totally plug and play, no drivers came with it. It's a Trendnet TFW-H3PL. I got a yellow exclamation point in device manager in one slot, and it wouldn't install at all on the other. I put it in this pc and it installed just fine. I hooked the firewire cable up to the handycam dock with the camera on, got the message windows that new device found, sony Handycam!!! "Your device is installed and ready to use"; and I heard the Windows sound boo-beep that I always hear when Windows detects my regular camera and the window pops up asking you what you want to do..
however, that window did not pop up, and the camera is nowhere to be found in "My Computer!"
Perseverance is one thing, but it is seeming like this was just not meant to be; I took pics of the whole shitload, and if I can get my network connection back on the other pc it's going on Ebay. I shouldn't be sitting inside pulling my hair out on a beautiful day like this!!!
