SWG POWERVENT ON ALASKA STOKER

Hi All,,,, I am new to this forum so bear with me . I have an alaska stoker
which I bought used. I have used it for several years with great results with
a standard 8 inch masonry chimney and Barometric damper.
Now I need to use it in my new home, (where I do not wish to build a chimney) I have an SWG-4 powerventer which my father in law had used
for several years until he got a new stainless version.
My question concerns the make and/or model of air sensing switch which
functions as a safety monitoring device, causing a shutdown of furnace
if powerventer should stop. my father in law, unfortunately cannot make out
the info on his. can anyone supply me with needed info. i do not want to compromise safety, but also wish to shop around for best pricing.

Welcome to the forum! A WMO-1 from Field Controls is a FUME Switch that can be connected in series with the power coming in. If the switch senses a condition requiring shut down it will kill all power to the stoker thus shutting down the fuel supply.

Your local plumbing supply should have one in stock. One thing to note is that the non-stainless SWG-4 is not recommended for coal stoves due to the corrosive nature of the exhaust. Your Alaska dealer can help you in making sure you are going to have a safe installation in your new location.

Just think of it this way, it would be shame to damage your new home or endanger your life due to cutting a few corners.
